A MAN FOR OUR TIMES
Governor Otter returned home in 2007 after six years in Congress with a great understanding of the important role that states like Idaho play – as “laboratories of the republic” – in helping address the challenges that Americans face. His experience in the Idaho Legislature, as Lieutenant Governor, in Congress, and in business around the world gave him a strong belief in Limited Government and Unlimited Opportunity, and in the need for firmly establishing the Proper Role of Government for the people of his native Idaho. That’s why everything he does as Governor is aimed at Promoting Responsible Government, Enhancing Economic Opportunity, and Empowering Idahoans. Governor Otter remains committed to accomplishing those goals by making government more efficient, effective and responsive, by listening to citizens in every corner of our state, and most of all by holding state government to its proper role in Idahoans’ lives – as the people’s servant, not their master.
